The Role & Project
MACA Mining are seeking motivated candidates interested in commencing a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter apprenticeship on one of our mining projects, operating on a 2/1 FIFO roster or at our Hazelmere workshop on a 5/2 roster.
As an Apprentice, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in a large-scale mining environment while completing a nationally recognised trade qualification. Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will develop your skills and knowledge through practical on the job training and structured learning.
- Supporting general maintenance activities, scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs and component change-outs to a high standard.
- Learning to source and interpret technical information from manuals, technical bulletins, OEM documentation and computer-based systems.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within workshops and work areas.
- Carrying out pre-start inspections and reporting any defects or safety concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A commitment to working safely and following site health and safety procedures at all times.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced mining environment.
- The ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors and tradespeople.
- Hold a current driver’s licence (C class preferred).
- Previous exposure to mechanical or heavy equipment environments (desirable but not required).
- A National Police Clearance.
